Apricot,Plum,Orange and Mint Jam

There is no better way to improve my mood then making myself busy in the kitchen. If anything fails this will always work for me. This Saturday was time for new jam! Apricot, Plum , Orange and Mint Jam, or in other words - jam of anything I could find :-) and thought it would work. And it did! As I could not find that Oetker's Gelfix 2in1 I wrote before in my other "jammy post" and I do not like using too much sugar to thicken jams or cook them for too long, I just used pure gelatin and it worked perfectly well. Straight away needed to ring my mum and tell her about my discovery! She said she would do the same with the next batch :-) The jam is again very light, not too sweet and perfect for a breakfast or even used for baking tarts! I will possibly end up eating it straight from the jar :-) So what I had at home and what I got from the market? Ingredients: 1000g plums - stone removed; 2000g apricots - stone removed; 600g fine light brown sug

Bread no 3 - Almond Bread

This bread is just divine and I need to do it again VERY soon! It is from Paul Hollywood's book and I tried to follow his recipe this time. But I know that I will need to adjust baking time and temperature for my oven and not to follow his instructions next time. The bread bakes and browns very quickly, so it needs checking all the time. I have a gas oven with a fire that may burn my creations on one side while they are still not properly cooked on the other. Still have to learn how to use it because I always had before an electric oven and, unless I left something for several hours in it, I never got to taste home-baked carbon! This time on one side I got a bit black shade, I must admit, but even Julia Child used to say, that if no one see your kitchen disaster then it does not exist :-D And the bread tastes so good... yum, yum, yum! Celery and Cucumber Green Juice

It happened that at my new work I met some raw food fanatic. Which is very good, because I have been interested in the subject lately. One reason - J's eczema, second - beautiful Golubka blog. So pretty that you want to watch it all the time. Raw food, as the followers say, could help with the general well-being [you can quickly gather by these words that I am not totally a believer yet, but give me some time :-) ] and that's why we decided to try to get a bit more raw. Plus we were never that far from that. There was never anything wrong for us in eating raw vegetables [no potatoes!] or fruit as the nature intended. We do need to have things boiled, mashed and creamed so they are no longer recognisable. This time, after coming from cycling, I made this yummy and aromatic Celery&Cucumber Green Juice .
