Cuban Oregano

Something very healthy today ❤️❤️
5 months ago my mum gave me few tiny cuttings of this plant. And she said: It’s a herb, plant it and use it. So I did and now I have not only a beautiful but, as I found out, a very healthy plant ðŸŠī
There are different names for it, for instance: Cuban oregano, Indian borage, Mexican mint, French thyme...looks to me, like every nation wants to claim its healthy and culinary benefits. 😂
The plant is native to more sunny countries, tropical rather, then the UK or Poland, but, indoors, grows here as well.
Can be used fresh (chopped on a sandwich or salad) or dried (like oregano, mint or thyme).

The plant itself is very aromatic. So strong that use it with caution as it may overpower your food.
It traditional medicine it is also used to treat sore throats, colds, coughs and infections. Rubbing an aromatic leaf on your skin can prevent from mosquitos bites. And brewed as a cup of tea may help with digestion or nasal congestion.
Nature is powerful, let’s just use it ðŸĪ“

What’s on your windowsill?

Kasia 😊
