Hot, hot, hot... very hot weekend it was... Lovely! And to cool ourselves down I made some Strawberry Ice-cream. Of course I also made vanilla ice-cream, because J does not fancy novelties too much :-0.
Well, maybe a strawberry ice-cream is not a novelty, but for him any addition to vanilla ice-cream is just a waste of time, products and energy.
So strawberry treat was mostly for myself. And what a tasty and light treat it was! I did not add too much sugar to make it more natural and not so sweet.
Here pictured with some vanilla ice-cream as well.
So how I did it?
450 g strawberries
1 tbsp sugar
150 ml of basic Vanilla Ice-cream
1. blend strawberries with sugar;
2. add vanilla ice-cream into mashed strawberries and stir to make a marble effect, so it looks like this:
3. freeze it for about 2 hours. Ready!
Ones frozen it is much harder then Vanilla Ice-cream mix because of the content of water [= in strawberries], so it is easier to handle after about 10 minutes from taking it from the freezer.
It is also excellent if frozen it containers for lollies [= > ice-cream on the stick].
Have fun!
